To the Muslim Public
Sanha is certifying Africa Spice, owned by Zev Krengel. Zev Krengel is the national president of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, an organization whose sole objective is to enable and advance Israel’s apartheid and genocide agenda in South Africa.
Africa Spice is not a company of which there is no alternative for. It is not a lifesaving / essential item.
We are not discussing Fiqh, so let’s not entertain nonsensical arguments about what are the parameters of halaal and haraam.
The halaal stamp costs Africa Spice a certain amount of money. For that minimal cost, they gain access to the entire Muslim market: every Muslim shopper, every halaal certified restaurant or take away etc.
The certification revenue from a small company like Africa Spice is a very paltry sum for Sanha.
Will Sanha make the principled decision to stop certifying the company of a man who has spent the last two years lobbying America against our government, who has actively enabled and supported the starvation, bombing, burning alive and torture of Palestinians?
The department of international relations and cooperation had the following to say regarding the dishonourable Zev Krengel:
“It is in the light of these atrocities that the unethical way the Deputy head of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, Mr Zev Krengel’s, commentary on South Africa’s stance on this matter should be condemned. Mr Krengel has repeated discredited information related to the beheading of children in Israel. This disinformation is part of the arsenal of dehumanisation tactics used to justify a ‘by any means necessary’ approach to dealing with Hamas, which has resulted in the huge casualties we see today……”
It is unconscionable that a halaal authority that is based in South Africa, certifies the business of the Zionist mouthpiece, against the wishes of the Muslim population, the majority of whom are very pro-Palestine.
Many activists have approached SANHA in the past, again when the incident where Mr Krengel ordered his CSO mercenaries to attack and assault Palestine Solidarity activists a few years ago went viral.
Unfortunately, the only way is a public appeal. We hope that Sanha now listens to the Muslim community whom it is supposed to represent.
Zev Krengel’s Africa Spice is NOT digestible for humans who do not want to be complicit in the starvation and burning alive of Palestinians.
