Motorists travelling in Lenasia have been urged to be cautious near the N12 freeway, where service delivery protests are underway.
The N12 between Abu Baker Asvat Drive and K43 Klipspruit Valley Road has been closed in both directions.
Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officers are on the scene.
Spokesperson Xolani Fihla said, “Motorists are strongly advised to utilise alternative routes, such as R554 Nirvana Drive, the Golden Highway R553, Chris Hani Road, Main Road, that’s through Soweto and Eldorado Park, and Impala Road. Further updates will be issued as JMPD officers work to clear the area and safely reopen the freeway.”
