As-salaamu alaykum.
All praise be to Allah, Salutations upon Nabi Muhammad ﷺ.
We appreciate the fact that UUCSA and JUSA retracted their original statements regarding the moon sighting for Dhul Qa’dah and, subsequently, agreed that Sunday was the first, Alhamdulillah.
However, an obvious question stares us in the face: how did your Ulama issue a statement of ‘no sighting’ before 7 pm, when two brothers from Hectorspruit registered their testimony After Maghrib, according to UUCSA’s own records.
Who or what influenced the initial decision?
This type of conduct is more befitting actors in some soap opera than Ulama who claim to be representing the Muslim public.
In the interests of transparency, UUCSA and JUSA should explain their blatant dishonesty and deception. This should be followed by a sincere apology and a genuine commitment not to hoodwink the public in future.
Public trust in your respective organisations is already low. This debacle simply confirms your status as unreliable, dishonest, one-eyed leaders in the land of blind followers.
Remember that you will be held accountable for misleading the public and no amount of accolades will avail you.
