Where do Israeli soldiers go after committing war crimes in Palestine? Increasingly, the answer is India.

Around 80,000 Israelis – including many active and reserve IDF soldiers – go to India to detox and relax after carrying out crimes in Gazza.

Certain towns, especially along the so-called “Hummus Trail”, are mobbed by Israelis and are filled with cafés serving what they call “Israeli food.”

Historically, India and Palestine had close relations, but India has been moving closer to Israel for decades. This process was sped up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose Hindutva ideology closely aligns with that of Zionism.

Today, India is, by far, the Israeli arms industry’s largest customer.

Mintpress explores this phenomenon.
