Donald Trump has a dirty secret he’s not telling anyone as he bloviates about “getting the job done” in Gaza – his “normalization-deal-of-the-century” is dead in the water.
It is clear, but not admitted. “The Don” probably needs some time to come up with a “deal of the millennium” to distract pitchfork brigades of Republican supporters from noticing the failure sticking to him.
So, as Trump dons his Quixotic armour before sallying forth as the latest Crusader leader determined to conquer Gaza, his Sancho Panza sidekick Benjamin Netanyahu is playing a distraction game, much like the clowns do in a circus between acts, to distract the crowd from noticing nothing’s going on as they rearrange the scenery.
The fuhrer let the dead cat out of the normalization bag on Thursday, infuriating his erstwhile normalisation allies by sneering: “The Saudis can create a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia; they have a lot of land over there.”
His Wehrmacht minister Israel Katz followed that up by suggesting Ireland and Spain take in the Palestinians, if they loved them that much.
Clearly, there’s going to be no “pathway to statehood” for Palestine if Bibi and his cohorts continue getting their way.
Hence, normalization is dead.
And Trump has nothing. Nada, niente, zilch.
He’s firing off half sentences and non sequiturs in typical, incomprehensible Trump style, yammering on about “the US taking over Gaza”, as though the mood music on his car stereo is going to distract the world from asking “and what then?”
So far, Washington watchers say there’s no moves afoot to even start the preparatory paperwork to get precious US boots on the blood-soaked ground. Again, this may be “just Trump” blathering on and doing a mean Sitting Bull-before-Enos impression.
Perhaps, he’s just upset that he’s had to join Genocide Joe Biden in secretly wearing adult diapers and he’s worried his Sleepy Joe jibes are going to precipitate senility as well as incontinence before the end of his term.
Such are the things that move history nowadays.
It may be Trump has been reading Markaz Sahaba and now realises Netanyahu’s greatest strength and his secret to his political longevity is his death grip on the Gaza tiller. As long as he can rain down death and fury whenever he likes, Netanyahu can upset even great America’s apple pie cart.
Time and again, he humiliated Biden, reneging on the US president’s “red lines” and other assurances made with all the gravitas the White House has at its disposal to swing on the global stage.
Trump doesn’t want to end up on his face in the mud like Biden did on countless occasions as Netanyahu committed atrocity after atrocity with Biden cratering credibility with every public pronouncement.
The Don can’t let that happen, either publicly or when alone at home in the bathroom at night.
The fact is: AS LONG AS BIBI IS IN CHARGE IN GAZA, HE IS IN CHARGE OF AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY.
And Trump will never allow that to continue.

Ergo, Bibi is really Trump’s Number 1 enemy.
