The final Gaza death toll could be a staggering 1,166million, far higher than most politicians are expecting, because of significant undercounting by the enclave’s health officials, medical experts are warning.
The warnings may finally be filtering up to the top in Washington where Donald Trump’s incoming presidential team is reportedly putting their Zionazi friends under pressure to implement a ceasefire before Trump’s inauguration on January 20.
Israel has announced its sending its “A-team” of genocidaires to Doha for more negotiations, with indications from Tel Aviv there will be a ceasefire this time.
Nauseating stench
The pressure from Washington is undoubtedly being driven by the mounting death toll and global nausea for the stink that is rising from the Capitol and Israel’s parliament.
The Zionazis killed at least 64 000 Palestinians in the first eight months of their Gaza genocide, 62%% higher than the Gaza Health Ministry figure at the time, Lancet, the world’s foremost academic medical journal said this week.
Authors said the total death toll is likely even higher than that because the figures exclude non-trauma deaths resulting from the disruption of health care, food insecurity, and inadequate water and sanitation.
The ministry’s death toll on June 30 last year was 37 877, after eight months of gloating mass murder, fanatically supported by Israel’s Nato allies, or 67% below the Lancet’s recalculated death toll of 64 000.
The current, official death toll is 46 565, the Palestine Chronicle reports Sunday. Adjusting that terrible number by 67% adds another 31 198 victims – mostly women and children – indicating the current, real Gaza death toll is closer to 77 700.
Standard demographic modelling assume a final death toll to contemporary fatality numbers by multiplying them by between three and 15 times the toll of those killed directly by violence. The lowest multiple of three is used where medical systems are relatively intact.
That is not the case with Gaza. Nasser Hospital is now the only large hospital still partly functioning in Gaza.
Considering that the Israelis are also still maintaining a extermination choke on aid supplies into the enclave, the final death toll is likely to be on the higher side with a higher multiple.
Multiplying 77 700 by 15 in a “worst case” scenario, coughs up a final death toll figure, calculating for all indirect and unreported deaths, of 1,166million.
And still the killing continues, thanks to Washington’s lethal, uninterrupted supply of the world’s most advanced weaponry to wipe out mostly women and children.
Genocide’s ‘A-team’
Israeli Fuhrer Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday he would sent top security officials to the Doha talks to reach a ceasefire deal, including Mossad chief David Barnea, the head of Israel’s missing and captive soldiers division and Nitzan Alon, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, and political adviser Ophir Falk.
Middle East Eye reports the decision comes after Netanyahu held a meeting with Defence Minister Israel Katz and other top security officials, as well as negotiators with the Biden administration and incoming Trump administration.
Whether or not Israel’s peace deal will be just more lipstick smeared on a pig remains to be seen. History tells us this will be the most likely scenario – a brief lull in murder until the feel-good factor from Trump’s inauguration has died down before “mowing the lawn” again.
Israeli news outlet Haaretz reported Saturday their Wehrmacht had approved a plan to “swiftly withdraw” troops “from large parts of Gaza”, including the deadly Netzarim corridor that currently divides the enclave into a northern and southern part.
Civilians trying to pass between the two areas are routinely murdered by Israeli soldiers in the corridor. Quds Brigades balanced the equation somewhat with an attack on the corridor Saturday that claimed the lives for four stormtroopers, Israeli media confirmed.
Politico reports the higher death toll figures come as a growing number of legal experts and NGOs accuse Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
Human Rights Watch revealed last month Israel had deliberately cut off water from Palestinians, leading to thousands of deaths from dehydration and disease.
Also last month, Amnesty International accused Israel of treating Palestinians as a “subhuman group” and warned that countries supplying arms to Israel, including the United States and Germany, may be guilty of genocide.
