Hamas, Fatah agree in Cairo to govern Gaza after the Holocaust

Amin Qudsi
Hamas and Fatah have agreed after talks in Cairo to establish an “administrative committee” to govern Gaza after the genocide, Al-Araby al-Jadeed, reports.
An unidentified source told Al-Araby that Hamas “presented a detailed vision for the committee’s work, tasks and powers, while the Fatah delegation requested to review its central leadership, which requires holding meetings and follow-ups later.”
But Israeli warlord Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet wants to establish concentration camps in Gaza, operated by mercenaries from a private security firm and run by former US and Israeli intelligence officials, as well as special forces commanders, Yedioth Ahronoth reported last month.
Netanyahu continues to reject any notion of Hamas, the PA or Fatah’s involvement in any post-war government in Gaza, while continuing to obstruct a ceasefire and exchange deal. The Israeli warlord has advanced his own plans for the “day after”, which includes indefinite Israeli security control over the strip.
The Cairo meeting coincided with PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s talks with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fatah el-Sisi in the capital about the genocide and efforts to reach a ceasefire.
Al Qahera TV at the weekend revealed Fatah and Hamas were meeting in Cairo to discuss a post-war Gaza governance committee. The Hamas delegation was headed by Political Bureau deputy chief, and included Politburo member Bassem Naim and national relations head Hussam Badran.
The Fatah delegation included Deputy Chairman of the party Mahmoud al-Aloul, Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee member Azzam al-Ahmad, and Palestinian National Council head Rawhi Fattouh.
The Cairo agreement followed one in late July when Hamas, Fatah, and 12 other Palestinian factions signed a Chinese-brokered reconciliation agreement in Beijing. It was announced at the time that they agreed on the establishment of “a provisional national reconciliation government” under the auspices of the PLO.
Washington has been pushing its own post-war Gaza plan, involving a “reformed” PA under the tutelage of an Arab-International mission led by the UAE. Palestinian resistance factions have rejected all US-led initiatives for post-genocide Gaza. They’re adamant the fate of their people must remain in their hands.
