Qisarya is remembered again. After being buried beneath road signs and the hubris of the genocidal state of Israel for 74 years, the name of the tiny settlement that was wiped out in a murderous rampage by soldiers led by Yitzach Rabin on February 15, 1948, is back in the news.
It’s now where Israeli occupation prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu lives and it’s where he was forced to scurry for shelter Friday after the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon targeted it with a barrage of missiles as they expanded their operations to all settlements, like Qisarya, that were seized during the genocidal Nakba.
For the present, the “Lawnmowers” have renamed Qisarya as “Keisarya” and it will likely now remain on the missile target list until it reclaims its old, real name.
Walla, an Israeli news website, says Netanyahu was at his residence in occupied Qisarya when the sirens wailed above his head, prompting the warmonger to seek shelter as the fruits of his labours cut too close to home.
Since early Friday, alarm sirens have been piercing the skies above settlements built on the ruins of villages that were wiped out during the Nakba. They dot the northern Israel countryside like tombstones, in a grim profusion that is startling if you recall each site’s genocidal roots – Merchavim, Misgav Am, Hanita, Haifa, Krayot, Akka, Nahariya, and the Beit She’an Valley.
Israeli media said the skies over Haifa and Krayot were “chaotic” Friday, torn asunder by the wailing of sirens and thunder of a reckoning that has been 74 years in the making.
Netanyahu and his war cabinet are becoming accustomed to ducking into bunkers like Hitler did as his “1000-year reich” died an agonising death. Israeli media report Netanyahu and several ministers cowered under ground during the Iranian missile retaliation Tuesday night.
Most scurried off to a fortified underground location in al-Quds, while occupation Security Minister Yoav Gallant took cover in an underground bunker at the Ministry of Security in Tel Aviv.
Hezbollah meantime says it has increased its firepower against Israeli military bases in northern occupied Palestine, continuing targeted operations against the occupation and responding to incursions in the south. It adds the effort is in support of Gaza and its resistance, as well as in defence of Lebanon against the Israel’s “brutal” aggression on cities, villages, and civilians.
Al Mayadeen reports the Israeli military has repeatedly claimed that its blitzkrieg into South Lebanon will be “limited, localized and targeted”, but the recent deployment of a fifth division to the northern front suggests the genocidal state is preparing for a long and difficult battle.
