Israel is on high alert and is preparing to shift a significant portion of its genocide muscle from Gaza to its northern border after its exploded about 4 000 sabotaged pager devices being used across Lebanon.
The Zionist operation killed 11 people and injured about 4 000 others, 400 of them critically, when the devices exploded without warning Tuesday night.
Hamas condemned the attack, saying that “the aggression did not differentiate between civilians and resistance fighters.” The attack was “a crime that defies all laws and norms,” it said, adding it held “the occupation government fully responsible for the repercussions of this crime.”
The New York Times citing unidentified Israeli “officials” said Zionists concealed explosives inside a batch of Taiwanese Gold Apollo pager devices that were imported recently into Lebanon.
Kill one, kill all
Israel had heard Hezbollah had ordered more than 3 000 of the devices, so it tampered with a batch before it entered Lebanon by placing a small explosive next to the battery in each device in the load.
Not sure which ones would be sent to Hezbollah agents, the Israelis simply sabotaged all of them, not caring if agents or civilians were using them.
Gold Apollo’s founder Hsu Ching-Kuang flatly denied his company had anything to do with the attacks.
Instead, Hsu told the BBC he licensed his trade mark to a company in Hungary called BAC Consulting to use the Gold Apollo name on their own pagers. Attempts to contact BAC were unsuccessful.
“You look at the pictures from Lebanon,” Hsu told reporters outside his firm’s offices Wednesday. “They don’t have any mark saying Made in Taiwan on them, we did not make those pagers!”
Syrian media reported 11 Hezbollah members were critically injured around Damascus when their pagers exploded.
Lebanese Civil Defense says it has started to transfer the wounded in the south of the country to other hospitals outside the governorate, as its hospitals are overwhelmed. The head of the Lebanese Doctors Syndicate issued an urgent appeal to all doctors of all specialties to immediately head to their workplaces to treat those injured in the page explosions.
‘Hamas is winning this war’
Israel is now awaiting a response from Hezbollah, threatening even more death if a retaliation comes. However, unidentified Israeli officials told ABC News “those calling for war with Lebanon are unaware of the difficulty of obtaining ammunition”. They said Netanyahu’s failure to sign a ceasefire agreement in Gaza “is pushing us towards a potentially catastrophic war with Hezbollah”.
Former Israeli army commander Gadi Shamni told the New York Times: “Hamas is winning this war, and will play a decisive role in the future of Gaza”.
Airlines have cancelled all flights to Israel and Iran while Benjamin Netanyahu prepares to replace his war-crimes co-accused and now-fired Defence Minister Yoav Gallant who has slammed his boss for having no coherent exit plan to the continuing genocide in Gaza.
Israel’s Channel 12 reports Gallant and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi are holding consultations with leaders of the military and security establishment, in light of the tensions following the pager attack in Lebanon.
The US seems to be siding with Gallant – US defence secretary Lloyd Austin has phoned Gallant twice in the last few hours, CNN reports.
‘A leader who has failed repeatedly’
Netanyahu wants Gallant to be replaced by Gideon Sa’ar, another right-wing genocidaire who opposes absolutely any notion of a ceasefire or even a prisoner swap deal. However, polls show 58% of Israelis don’t trust him for the job.
Former prime minister Ehud Barak was unimpressed: “Benjamin Netanyahu violated the first rule of a prime minister in war. The removal of Defense Minister Yoav Galant and the entry of Gideon Sa’ar guarantees the continuation of the war under the leadership of a leader who has failed repeatedly.”
Meanwhile, the Palestine Chronicle Israeli warplanes are launching airstrikes against the town of Khiam in southern Lebanon while clashes escalate in the West Bank where Zionist settlers have stormed a tomb in Nablus that Christians believe is the kabr of Joseph, husband of Maryam (alayi salaam).
Horrific massacre
That has resulted in violent clashes between resistance fighters and soldiers in Balata Al-Balad, close to the tomb, and in the east of the city.
In the horrific massacre in Al-Bureij refugee camp, rescuer are still trying to reach at least 50 bodies believed to trapped under the rubble after Israel blew up an entire block with one bomb at the weekend.
In Gaza, Zionists kept up an intensive air and artillery bombardment, targeting the west and centre of Rafah.
US whistleblower Edward Snowden tweeted on X: “As information comes in about the exploding beepers in Lebanon, it seems now more likely than not to be implanted explosives, not a hack. Why? Too many consistent, very serious injuries. It it were overheated batteries exploding, you’d expect many more small fires and misfires.”
The attack was “indistinguishable from terrorism”, he added.
