Zionist aggression continues relentlessly in Gaza after 310 days of “international community” passivity as Israel commits harrowing massacres of civilians, bombing homes and displacement centres indiscriminately and relentlessly.
Gaza health ministry figures say the direct death toll since October 7 is 39 790, but if the 620 deaths in the West Bank are added in, then the count is already north of 40 000.
Add in the guesstimated 11 000 bodies missing under the rubble and the figure is well over 50 000.
It’s all “normal” now: Israeli shelling east of Al-Bureij refugee camp massacres without a murmur from the mainstream media while infantry assaults inside the camp are not worth a mainstream mention.
The UK’s Independent tells us “global condemnation of an Israeli airstrike on a school – which Israel claimed was being used by Hamas operatives – continued to grow amid reports around 100 civilians were killed in the attack”.
But the “global condemnation” went nowhere, probably because the best response the US political system was able to come up with was Democrat hopeful Kamala Harris’s limp-wristed response: “too many civilians have been killed yet again”.
As though stating the obvious – that everyone already knows and has been shouting at the White House for 310 straight days – instead of doing the obvious is all that is needed.
For all Kamala’s bleating, it didn’t stop her incontinent boss, Joe Biden, from releasing over $3billion in military aid to Israel while she was voicing her “sympathy”.
Airstrikes, artillery bombardments and infantry attacks are turning families into mincemeat in the north and south of Gaza too, the enclave’s mini army of fearless journalists are telling us.
The news keeps coming out, despite all of Israel’s efforts to silence the resistance, despite killing about 250 journalists, media workers and translators since October 7.
The healing, the care, sacrifice and the compassion still beats strongly in healthworkers’ hearts even though the Zionists have deliberately targeted 500 for assassination.
Wikipedia notes dryly: “ significant number of attacks on healthcare facilities occurred during the Israel-Hamas war. During the first week of the war, there were 94 attacks on health care facilities in Israel and Gaza, killing 29 healthcare workers and injuring 24.
The attacks on healthcare facilities contributed to a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
By 30 November, the World Health Organization documented 427 attacks on healthcare in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, resulting in 566 fatalities and 758 injuries.
By February 2024, it was reported that “every hospital in Gaza is either damaged, destroyed, or out of service due to lack of fuel.”
By April, WHO had verified 906 attacks on healthcare in Gaza, the West Bank, Israel, and Lebanon.
As of May 8, only 12 out of Gaza’s 36 hospitals were described as “partially functional”.
As of June 2024, according to WHO, Israel has attacked 464 health care facilities, killed 727 health care workers, injured 933 health care workers, and damaged or destroyed 113 ambulances [6]”
Al Mayadeen reports an Israeli airstrike also hit the town of Al-Qarara northeast of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, coinciding with strikes on the western part of the Bani Suheila area east of the city.
Sunday, the Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of approximately 500 healthworkers and the injury of hundreds since the start of the genocide.
It said “Israel” has arrested over 310 medical staff and destroyed 130 ambulances in Gaza.
It noted that the systematic targeting of medical infrastructure had deprived citizens of access to basic healthcare.
Poor water and sanitation conditions, along with overcrowding, had led to an unmeasurable increase in preventable diseases and early deaths.
Gaza is facing a public health disaster due to unsafe water resources and a lack of basic sanitation needs for over 1.7 million forcibly displaced people.
