Nazi Isreael Sunday rejected any international attempts to “impose” a Palestinian state on Israel, insisting it will directly negotiate any “permanent” arrangement directly with the Palestinians.

The Cabinet decision followed comments from some of Israel’s allies suggesting that they were considering simply recognizing a Palestinian state ahead of any agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

The New York Times reports Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the statement as a “declarative decision” that was needed “in light of recent remarks”.

The resolution, which bolsters Netanyahu stance, comes as the Biden administration tries to broker a deal for the normalization of ties between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Saudi officials insist that hinges on Israel agreeing to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Netanyahu has rebuffed US cajoling to agree to that path after the Gaza genocide is complete.

The final wording of the Israeli government resolution does not explicitly rule out the possibility of Palestinian statehood.

“Israel utterly rejects international diktats regarding a permanent settlement with the Palestinians,” the resolution read, adding, “A settlement, if it is to be reached, will come about solely through direct negotiations between the parties, without preconditions.”

David Cameron, Britain’s foreign secretary, said last month  a top priority was to give the Palestinians belief in “irreversible progress to a two-state solution”. Diplomats said that might include a unilateral recognition of Palestine.

French President Emmanuel Macron of France said recently, “Recognition of a Palestinian state is not a taboo for France.”

That put the fire under an embattled Bibi, who is struggling to decide who to believe. He’s even insisted his Cabinet partners take lie detector tests before meetings.

The Israeli government decision concluded that the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state “would be a massive and unprecedented reward to terrorism and would prevent any future peace settlement”.

Right Wing lunatic Benny Gantz said Sunday the normalization process with Saudi Arabia was an important effort that he was working to promote, but “not through one-sided actions like recognition of a Palestinian state not agreed beforehand with the state of Israel”.
